Week 2: ESJ vs IstroumaThe Wildcats defeated Istrouma 33-14 in the second game of the season. Kalen Henderson connected on 11 of 13 passes for a career-high 290 yards. Seven of Henderson's passes, including all four touchdowns, were to junior Dhaquille Williams, who finished with 252 receiving yards. Henderson completed each of his first eight passes for 244 yards and three scores. His first misfire was a throwaway under pressure with 4:32 left in the third quarter. ESJ amassed 485 offensive yards, Henderson and Williams, with a hand from Reynaldo Young (14 carries, 111 yards) in the ground game, offset a performance by multi-threat Istrouma star Kenneth Bell that got the home crowd on their feet. Switching between quarterback and running back, Bell carried 18 times for 197 yards and scored both of Istrouma’s touchdowns. Henderson lead the Wildcats to a touchdown Friday on each of their first five full possessions.
